Concentration and Dilution

Hello today in science we are doing concentration and dilution. concentration, a measure of how much solute has been dissolved into the solvent.  Like "the juice was strongly concentrated" so that would mean "the juice was weakly dilute".

Aim: Carry out a serial dilution with potassium permanganate,

We can measure in two ways:

- How dilute is something... (how weak it is)

- How concentrated something is... (how strong it is)

The experiment we are doing is dilution. (serial dilutions)

what is it?

making something less concentrated, there will be less particles in the liquid. serial in a scientific way means multiple. We are using test tubs the first test tub has 10ml of water then the rest have 5ml of water. We are also using potassium permanganate witch is toxic and flammable.

I think that some of them will turn purple and some wont because the potassium permanganate has a purple tint to it.

We are always gonna move is over from one test tub we are going to use a pipette to move 5ml's from each test tub.

results: At the beginning the water was a dark purple then we keep moving them along they become a lighter purple and more see through. I think it become like this become the water washed out a lot of the colour made it more dilute.
